Can Your HPLC Column Do This? TYPE-C Silica Unbonded compared to Cogent UDC Cholesterol Page 17 This slide shows the unique property of TYPE-C Bare Silica to function both in aqueous reverse phase and organic normal phase. It can be seen that for the organic modifiers typically used in aqueous reverse phase; methanol is the weakest solvent when compared to acetonitrile and THF. Methanol also gives the worst band-broadening and worst symmetry of these solvents. The acetonitrile response is a significant improvement over methanol with THF appears better than the acetonitrile for both parameters. It will be noted, however, that the best symmetry and least band broadening are achieved when using organic normal phase solvents of hexane and ethyl acetate. |
