What About Peptides? – Page 31

It is traditionally thought that a 300-angstrom phase is needed for larger peptide and protein analysis, however, much of this bias is caused by attempts to reduce silanol activity and bonded phase adsorption by use of large pore size to greatly reduce surface area.

Microsolv’s research into this field is in its infancy, but preliminary results suggest that the weak aqueous reverse retention mechanism of certain TYPE-C Silica™ may prove ideal for larger peptides and proteins and the bonded phases for small to medium size peptides, shown in the next slides.
