KRC - Knitted Reactor Coils/ Delay Tubes KRC-Knitted Reactor Coils: Use with PhotoChemical Reactor The Knitted Reactor Coils (KRC) are made by knitting 1/16th OD PTFE tubing into very precise “folds”. They are intended to be used with the Post Column Photochemical Reactor or can be used as “Delay Tubes” for Flow Injection Analysis (FIA). In both cases, the inserted flow path creates a delay line so that any post column reaction can take place to enhance detection methods such as UV or Mass Spec. The coiling effect, or “folds” minimizes post column band spreading by folding the separated sample plug onto itself in the torturous path. Radial mixing takes place but not axial dispersion. The coils are available in variety of tubing lengths and internal diameters (ID) ranging from 5 meters long and 0.25mm ID up to 25 meters long with an ID of 0.75mm. Delay Tubes: The KRC can be ordered as Knitted Delay Tubes (KDT) which are coils with 2mm ID flangeless ferrules and two flangeless nuts for connecting to ¼-28 fittings. An optional connector with female ¼-28 and female 10-32 threads and a 1mm thru hole is available. Please inquire for more information. This connector allows connection of ¼-28 fittings to standard 1/16th inch HPLC Tubing.
