Why is it Not Recommended to Use FEP Tubing Above 80°C When the Melting Point is Much Higher - FAQ
Date: 26-OCTOBER-2015 Last Updated: 8-NOVEMBER-2025
FEP polymer has a melting point of 260°C and a general recommended maximum operating temperature during usage of around 200°C.
If pressure is applied in the tubing, however, the maximum temperature should be lowered accordingly. The maximum temperature during usage should be 80°C under these conditions. If no pressure is applied, the tubing can be used up to 200°C.
