The AQ™ Nylon Syringe Filters are not designed for sterile filtration.

The primary function of 0.2 µm syringe filters is to remove particulate matter from samples prior to injection into an HPLC system. This helps protect both the HPLC instrument and the column from contamination and damage.

Additionally, 0.2 µm filters have been noted to provide cold sterilization, meaning they are capable of removing microorganisms such as bacteria from solutions without the use of heat. This secondary capability may be relevant in applications requiring sterile filtration.
