Cogent HPS Amino™ Semi-Preparative HPLC Columns are designed for purification, fraction collection, and method scale-up of highly polar compounds using Normal Phase and HILIC chromatography modes. Manufactured using tri-functional bonding of a three-carbon silane with a terminal amino functional group bonded to high-purity silica, this stationary phase is not end capped and provides the selectivity required for challenging separations of sugars, carbohydrates, organic acids, and other polar analytes. HPS Amino™ is particularly useful for small-volume preparative applications where conventional reversed-phase columns may not provide sufficient retention or selectivity.

75040-SP250 is packed with 5 µm HPS Amino™ particles in a 10 mm ID x 250 mm semi-preparative format. The 5 µm particle size provides excellent chromatographic efficiency while maintaining lower operating backpressure than smaller particles. The 10 mm internal diameter increases sample loading capacity compared to analytical columns, while the 250 mm length provides maximum retention, resolution, and peak capacity for demanding purification applications and method scale-up workflows.

The HPS Amino™ stationary phase is especially effective for negatively charged polar compounds, including sugars and compounds containing carboxylic acid functional groups. Commonly used in both Normal Phase and HILIC chromatography, this column provides excellent retention and selectivity for analytes that can be difficult to separate using traditional reversed-phase methods. The extended column length is ideal for achieving the highest levels of purity and separation when working with complex sample matrices or closely related compounds.
