UHPLC Column, RP Phenyl, 1.8um, 100A. 2.1mm ID x 100mm Length. Cogent Brand. 1 EA.

Additional Information:

Cogent RP Phenyl™ is a reversed-phase UHPLC stationary phase designed to provide enhanced selectivity for aromatic and structurally related compounds. Manufactured using a propyl linker with a terminal phenyl ring bonded to ultra-high purity silica and fully double end capped, this phase offers unique π-π interaction mechanisms that can improve separation of compounds that may be difficult to resolve on traditional alkyl phases. It is particularly useful for aromatic pharmaceuticals, positional isomers, flavonoids, tocopherols, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, nitro-aromatic compounds, and many natural products.

68124-10P-2 is a UHPLC column packed with 1.8 µm RP Phenyl™ particles featuring a 100 Å pore size in a 2.1 mm ID x 100 mm format. This is one of the most popular RP Phenyl™ column configurations due to its combination of high efficiency, reduced solvent consumption, and excellent compatibility with LC-MS instrumentation. The 100 mm length provides increased resolution and peak capacity compared to shorter column formats, while the sub-2 µm particle technology delivers outstanding chromatographic performance. Typical operating flow rates are approximately 0.2–0.4 mL/min. Because of the low flow rates required by 2.1 mm ID columns, any HPLC system used with this column must be capable of accurate and reproducible low-flow operation.

Designed specifically for high-pressure UHPLC applications, this column provides maximum performance when used on UHPLC systems capable of handling the elevated pressures produced by 1.8 µm particles. It is an excellent choice for LC-MS methods, aromatic compounds, positional isomers, pharmaceutical analysis, and complex sample matrices requiring enhanced selectivity and high resolution.

Important Notes

  • Specifically designed for UHPLC operation and high-pressure reversed-phase chromatography

  • Delivers maximum performance when used on a UHPLC system designed for sub-2 µm particle columns

  • May be used on compatible HPLC systems only if instrument pressure limits are not exceeded and low-flow operation is reliable

  • Sub-2 µm particles generate significantly higher backpressure than conventional HPLC columns

  • The 2.1 mm ID format is commonly used for LC-MS applications

  • Standard HPLC systems must be capable of precise and reproducible operation at approximately 0.2–0.4 mL/min

  • The 100 mm length provides greater resolution and peak capacity than 50 mm columns

  • Enhanced selectivity for aromatic and phenyl-containing compounds compared to traditional alkyl phases

  • Samples should be filtered through a 0.2 µm syringe filter prior to injection
