Guard Column Cartridges, RP PFP, 3um, 100A. 4.0mm ID x 10mm Length. Cogent Brand. 5/PK.

Additional Info:

68322-PG2 Cogent RP PFP™ Guard Column Cartridges are designed to protect analytical HPLC columns from particulate contamination and strongly retained compounds that can degrade performance and reduce column life. Packed with 3 µm Cogent RP PFP™ material, these cartridges provide high efficiency and matched selectivity for RP PFP analytical methods.

The packing material is fully double end‑capped and bonded via a four‑carbon linker to a benzene ring substituted with five fluorine atoms, using high purity 100 Å silica. This ensures consistent chromatographic behavior and seamless compatibility with RP PFP analytical columns.

Each cartridge is housed in a stainless steel tube with stainless steel frits pressed into PEEK frit caps, providing durability and suitability for both conventional HPLC and higher-efficiency separations.

4.0 mm ID × 10 mm Length – Analytical Column Protection

Optimized for standard analytical column dimensions, these guard cartridges provide effective protection without compromising resolution.

  • Compatible with 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm, and 4.6 mm ID columns

  • Protects against particulates and sample matrix contamination

  • Maintains analytical performance and column longevity

  • Minimizes dispersion while preserving efficiency

✅ Recommended for analytical workflows requiring higher efficiency than 5 µm systems

Flow Rate & System Requirements (4.0 mm ID, 3 µm)

⚠️ Requires HPLC or UHPLC system capable of handling moderate backpressure

  • Typical flow rate range: ~0.6 – 1.2 mL/min

  • Higher backpressure vs 5 µm and 10 µm cartridges

  • Suitable for high-efficiency analytical methods

  • Compatible with UV and MS detectors

✅ Important: Ensure system pressure limits are suitable for 3 µm particle operation

✅ Required Hardware: Must be used with a guard column holder designed for analytical cartridges (see guard column holder product page for compatibility and configuration details)
