Prep HPLC Column, RP C8 Octyl, Wide Pore, 5um, 300A. 21.2mm ID x 150mm Length. Cogent Brand. 1 EA.
Additional Information:
Cogent RP C8™ Wide Pore Preparative HPLC Columns are designed for purification and scale-up applications involving larger molecules that require enhanced pore accessibility. The stationary phase consists of a traditional octyl (C8) bonded ligand attached to ultra-high purity silica and is fully double end capped to minimize secondary interactions while providing reproducible retention and excellent chromatographic performance. The 300 Å wide pore structure allows proteins, peptides, and other higher molecular weight compounds to access more of the bonded surface area, making this phase particularly well suited for biomolecule purification.
68508-P21-1503M is packed with 5 µm RP C8™ Wide Pore particles featuring a 300 Å pore size in a 21.2 mm ID x 150 mm length preparative format. The increased column length provides greater resolving power and loading capacity compared to shorter preparative columns, making it ideal for purification of proteins, peptides, and other large compounds. The wide pore architecture improves accessibility and mass transfer for biomolecules that may be partially excluded from conventional 100 Å media. The RP C8™ chemistry provides lower hydrophobic retention than comparable C18 phases while maintaining excellent selectivity for a broad range of hydrophobic and neutral analytes.
The 21.2 mm ID format is commonly used for preparative purification and analytical-to-preparative method scale-up. Typical flow rates are approximately 15-25 mL/min depending on mobile phase composition and system configuration. A specialized preparative HPLC system capable of higher flow rates, larger injection volumes, and increased sample loading is required for optimum performance.
