Guard Column Cartridges, RP PFP, 5um, 100A. 2.1mm ID x 10mm Length. Cogent Brand. 5/PK.
Additional Info:
68522-PG1 Cogent RP PFP™ Guard Column Cartridges are designed to protect narrow‑bore analytical HPLC and UHPLC columns from particulates and strongly retained contaminants that can reduce column efficiency and lifespan. Packed with 5 µm Cogent RP PFP™ material, these cartridges provide balanced efficiency and pressure for routine analytical workflows.
The packing material is fully double end‑capped and bonded via a four‑carbon linker to a benzene ring substituted with five fluorine atoms, using high purity 100 Å silica. This ensures consistent chromatographic behavior and maintains method integrity when used with RP PFP analytical columns.
Each cartridge is housed in a stainless steel tube with stainless steel frits pressed into PEEK frit caps, providing durability and compatibility with standard and low‑flow HPLC systems.
2.1 mm ID × 10 mm Length – Low‑Flow Analytical Column Protection
Optimized for narrow‑bore analytical column formats, these guard cartridges provide effective protection with minimal added dispersion.
Designed for 2.1 mm ID analytical columns
Protects against particulates and matrix contamination
Maintains peak performance and column efficiency
Reduces system downtime and column replacement frequency
✅ Recommended for routine UHPLC and low‑flow analytical workflows
Flow Rate & System Requirements (2.1 mm ID, 5 µm)
⚠️ Requires HPLC or UHPLC system capable of reliable low‑flow operation
Typical flow rate range: ~0.2 – 0.4 mL/min
Moderate backpressure compared to 10 µm cartridges
Suitable for routine analytical methods
Compatible with UV and MS detection systems
✅ Important: Standard HPLC systems must be capable of stable low‑flow operation to support 2.1 mm ID columns
✅ Required Hardware: Must be used with a 2.1 mm ID guard column holder designed for analytical cartridges (see guard column holder product page for compatibility and configuration details)
