Cogent HPS Amino™ HPLC Columns are designed for the analysis of highly polar compounds using Normal Phase and HILIC chromatography modes. Manufactured using tri-functional bonding of a three-carbon silane with a terminal amino functional group bonded to high-purity silica, this stationary phase is not end capped and provides the selectivity required for challenging separations of carbohydrates, sugars, organic acids, and other polar analytes. HPS Amino™ is widely used as an alternative for USP L8 methods and for new method development requiring amino phase selectivity.

75040-15P-2 is packed with 5 µm HPS Amino™ particles in a 2.1 mm ID x 150 mm analytical format. The narrow-bore design reduces solvent consumption while supporting enhanced sensitivity in LC-MS applications. The 150 mm length provides enhanced resolution and peak capacity compared to shorter columns, making it suitable for more demanding separations while maintaining the lower backpressure advantages of a 5 µm particle.

The HPS Amino™ stationary phase is particularly effective for negatively charged polar compounds, including sugars, carbohydrates, and compounds containing carboxylic acid functional groups. Commonly used in both Normal Phase and HILIC chromatography, this column provides excellent retention and selectivity for analytes that can be difficult to retain on traditional reversed-phase columns.
