Hyper Similars C8™ Octyl is a traditional reversed-phase HPLC stationary phase manufactured on high-purity Type-B spherical silica with a fully endcapped octyl (C8) bonded phase. Designed as a cost-effective alternative to legacy Hypersil® and Spherisorb® columns, it offers comparable chromatographic behavior for USP L7 methods while providing the moderate hydrophobic retention and reproducibility expected from a conventional C8 stationary phase. Compared to C18 columns, C8 phases generally provide reduced retention and faster elution of hydrophobic analytes.
62308-05P-4 is a 50 mm x 4.0 mm ID analytical column packed with 5 µm, 150Å Hyper Similars C8 particles. The short 50 mm length is optimized for rapid analyses, fast equilibration, and high-throughput workflows. The 5 µm particle size provides reliable performance with lower operating pressure than smaller particle alternatives, making it suitable for routine use on conventional HPLC systems. The 4.0 mm ID format is often selected when reproducing legacy methods and typically operates at approximately 0.8–1.5 mL/min.
