Guard Column cartridges, Bidentate C18, replacement, 2.0 mm ID x 10 mm long cartridges packed with 4 um, 100 A phase. Cogent TYPE-C Brand. 5/PK.

Additional Info:

The 40018‑PG2 Cogent Bidentate C18™ Guard Column Cartridges are replacement guard cartridges designed to protect 2.1 mm ID Cogent TYPE‑C™ analytical HPLC columns from particulates and strongly retained contaminants that can reduce column performance or shorten column lifetime.

Each cartridge is packed with Cogent Bidentate C18™ stationary phase (4 µm, 100 Å) and housed in stainless‑steel tubing with stainless‑steel frits, providing mechanical stability and consistent flow characteristics. The stationary phase chemistry is phase‑matched to Cogent TYPE‑C™ Bidentate C18 analytical columns, ensuring that chromatographic selectivity, retention, and efficiency are preserved when a guard cartridge is installed.

All cartridges are individually labeled and shipped in protective black Delrin cases to prevent drying, contamination, or physical damage prior to installation. These cartridges are used with a separate Cogent TYPE‑C™ guard column holder, sold separately.

Why Use Replacement Guard Cartridges?

Guard cartridges protect analytical columns by trapping:

  • Undissolved sample particulates

  • Matrix contaminants that adsorb strongly to stationary phases

  • Debris that can block frits or permanently foul column packing

Replacing only the guard cartridge—rather than the holder—allows routine maintenance with minimal downtime and no disruption to the analytical column, helping maintain consistent performance across long analytical campaigns.
