Guard Column cartridges, Bidentate C18, replacement, 4.0 mm ID x 10 mm long cartridges packed with 4 um, 100 A phase. Cogent TYPE-C Brand. 5/PK.
Additional Info:
The 40018‑PG5 Cogent Bidentate C18™ Guard Column Cartridges are replacement guard cartridges designed to protect larger‑ID (3.0, 4.0, and 4.6 mm) Cogent TYPE‑C™ analytical HPLC columns from particulates and strongly retained contaminants that can compromise column performance or prematurely shorten column lifetime.
Each cartridge is packed with Cogent Bidentate C18™ stationary phase (4 µm, 100 Å) and housed in stainless‑steel tubing with stainless‑steel frits, providing mechanical durability and consistent flow characteristics. The phase‑matched TYPE‑C™ chemistry ensures that selectivity, retention, and efficiency of the analytical column are preserved when a guard cartridge is installed.
All cartridges are individually labeled and shipped in protective black Delrin cases, preventing drying, contamination, or physical damage prior to use. These cartridges are used with a compatible Cogent TYPE‑C™ guard column holder, sold separately.
Why Use Replacement Guard Cartridges?
Guard cartridges protect analytical columns by trapping:
Undissolved sample particulates
Strongly retained matrix contaminants
Debris that can foul frits or permanently damage column packing
Replacing only the guard cartridge—rather than the holder—enables routine maintenance with minimal downtime, helping maintain consistent chromatographic performance while extending analytical column service life.
