In general, autosampler vials and vial inserts are not designed for centrifugation, and we do not recommend or support their use in centrifuges due to the risk of cracking, deformation, or breakage under high g-forces.

✅ Exception: MRQ™ and Max Recovery™ Vials

The MICROSOLV™, AQ™ and RSA™ brands of MRQ™ and Max Recovery™ (Center-Draining)  style vials are specifically engineered with thicker walls and single-piece construction . These design features allow them to withstand centrifugal forces up to 6,000 × g, when used with:

  • A compatible centrifuge: The Vial Centrifuge™
  • Proper vial adapters or holders that support the vial evenly as in The Vial Centrifuge.

This makes them suitable for applications requiring gentle to moderate centrifugation, such as sample clarification or phase separation in small volumes.

🧪 Important Usage Tips

  • Always verify the maximum g-force rating of your centrifuge and adapters before use.
  • Ensure vials are balanced in the rotor to prevent mechanical stress or damage.
  • Do not exceed 6,000 × g , even with MRQ™ or Max Recovery™ vials.
  • Avoid using standard autosampler vials (e.g., 9502S or 9502S-PP) in any centrifuge.
