Introduction

Flunixin meglumine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic activity. Flunixin products are used in horses and cattle for applications involving the management of pain, inflammation, and fever associated with several veterinary conditions.

Its importance in veterinary medicine makes flunixin an analyte of interest for pharmaceutical quality control, formulation analysis, and analytical method development. Its aromatic structure also makes it an interesting candidate for evaluating the distinctive selectivity of the Cogent Phenyl Hydride™ stationary phase.
