Can I use the Chemical Solutions Qualification Kits for CAD - FAQ

Yes, one can absolutely use the same PQ kit for HPLCs for Charged Aerosol Detector (CAD) detectors—the core functionality remains largely unchanged. One consideration with CADs is their variability in sensitivity. Newer models tend to be 5–10 times more sensitive than older ones, which makes it more challenging to standardize instructions around injection volumes and detection range, unlike with UV detectors.
Please note: Older CAD detectors can be considerably less sensitive than standard UV detectors, which means solution L1 may not be detectable. As a result, in this case it is advised to running solutions L2 through L6 using the same mobile phase, column, and injection volume.
