Cogent TYPE‑C™ silica–based stationary phases (specifically the 4 µm and 2.0 µm particle sizes) are not offered for sale as unpacked bulk materials. This is because TYPE‑C™ silica is a unique and highly specialized material, and achieving optimal performance requires the use of proprietary packing technology developed by MICROSOLV. Proper slurry preparation, packing pressure control, and column hardware integration are fundamental to achieving the selectivity, efficiency, and surface‑dependent interactions characteristic of TYPE‑C™ technology. For this reason, TYPE‑C™ materials are supplied only as professionally pre‑packed columns or capillaries, ensuring consistent performance from lot to lot and eliminating packing‑related variability. 

However, 10 µm TYPE‑C™ particles can be made available by request for specialized applications—typically for users who need larger particle sizes for preparative, pilot‑scale, custom device, or educational purposes. This exception is limited and offered only when appropriate for the intended application.
