3. Tighten the holder an additional quarter turn using an appropriate wrench.

Avoid Over-Tightening

Applying excessive torque is not recommended.  Over-tightening may:

• Distort sealing components
• Increase wear on threads
• Make future cartridge replacement difficult
• Create unnecessary mechanical stress

Only enough tightening should be applied to achieve a proper seal.

Verifying Proper Installation

A correctly assembled guard column holder should:

• Remain leak-free during operation
• Maintain stable system pressure
• Hold the cartridge securely in position
• Protect the analytical column as intended

The appearance of a slight gap alone should not be considered evidence of improper installation.
