Does MICROSOLV Have a NAICS (Industry Classification) Number?

Yes.

We maintain industry classification details (including NAICS) for vendor onboarding and customer documentation. Because these identifiers can vary by business activity and customer system needs, we provide them upon request through Customer Service or your account representative.

(Note: the internal policy article you referenced requires login and is not publicly visible.)

What Is NAICS and Why Might It Differ by Context?

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is the U.S. government’s standard for classifying business establishments for statistical and administrative purposes. It is administered in the U.S. by the U.S. Census Bureau, and agencies / enterprises often use it for reporting, registration, procurement, and vendor master records.

Depending on how a customer procures from MICROSOLV—e.g., distribution of lab consumables, manufacturing of chromatography components, or analytical/qualification products—different downstream systems may require different code mappings (or secondary codes) to match their internal categories. The NAICS framework explicitly supports classification by primary activity at the establishment level, which is why some customers request the same vendor under multiple functional codes (e.g., manufacturer vs. wholesaler) when appropriate.

How to Obtain MICROSOLV’s NAICS Information

  • Existing customers: Contact your account manager or Customer Service for our current NAICS information and any secondary codes needed for your ERP or supplier portal.

  • New customers / vendor onboarding: Share your vendor form or portal link; we’ll return the required fields (NAICS, remit, W‑9/W‑8, contacts, etc.) promptly.

  • Multiple codes: If your system needs separate classifications for manufacture vs. distribution activity, we will provide the appropriate codes/documentation for each establishment you engage.

Tip: If your procurement team also uses SIC (legacy U.S. classification) or SASB/SICS (sustainability classification), let us know; we can supply those mappings as needed.

Why We Don’t List a Single Code on This Page

Some customers must align suppliers to their internal chart of accounts or commodity hierarchies, which map one vendor to different codes depending on the engagement. Publishing a single “one‑size‑fits‑all” NAICS can cause mismatches and delays. Providing the code on request ensures accurate alignment with your purchasing workflow.

Conclusion

We keep up‑to‑date NAICS information for vendor onboarding and compliance needs and will provide it directly to you—accurately matched to your procurement category and system requirements.

To receive our NAICS (and any supplemental codes you require), please contact Customer Service or your MICROSOLV representative.
