- Why It Matters: The lowest absorbance peak in the Holmium Oxide Wavelength Calibration Solution occurs at 241 nm. Therefore, any reference material that does not absorb significantly at or near 241 nm is considered suitable.
Why Water Works Well
- High-purity water has minimal absorbance in the UV-visible range above 200 nm.
- It provides a clean baseline, ensuring that the Holmium Oxide spectrum is not distorted by background absorption.
