FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) tubing—commonly referred to as Teflon® FEP tubing—is used in low‑pressure chromatography and laboratory applications where chemical inertness, flexibility, and non‑porous tubing walls are required. This tubing is commonly installed before the injector, after the detector, at mobile‑phase inlets, and on “to‑waste” lines in HPLC systems, as well as in low‑pressure LC and auxiliary laboratory workflows.

All MicroSolv™ FEP tubing is manufactured from virgin, high‑purity FEP resin and is chemically inert and non‑porous compared to PTFE tubing.

FEP tubing is widely selected for applications where low permeability and chemical resistance are important, particularly in ion chromatography and micro‑fluidic systems.

Temperature & Pressure Considerations

FEP tubing is intended for low‑pressure applications.

  • Maximum recommended operating temperature: 80 °C

Operating FEP tubing above this temperature may compromise mechanical integrity and chemical resistance.


Dimensional Tolerances

FEP tubing is manufactured to controlled tolerances appropriate for low‑pressure chromatography applications:

  • 1/16″ OD tubing: ± 0.05 mm

  • 1/8″ OD tubing: ± 0.10 mm

These tolerances support reliable fittings engagement and consistent flow behavior in low‑pressure zones.


Purity & Manufacturing Control

All MICROSOLV™ FEP tubing:

  • Is manufactured from virgin fluoropolymer resin

  • Contains no plasticizers or performance‑altering additives

  • Uses color only for external identification, when applicable

This ensures predictable chemical behavior and compatibility with analytical workflows.
