High pressure and low pressure tubing need different types of tools to cut them properly and to keep them working optimally. Choose the right tools: Beta Tools, Cutting tools or the flanging tool for plastic tubing, stainless steel or PEEK tubing cutters or tubing holders.

Stainless steel tubing is difficult to cut and bend correctly. Care must be taken to achieve the best results in HPLC and using the proper tools is essential. To straighten SS tubing, bend without kinks or remove kinks use one of our most popular items, the Beta Tools™. Choose either the original Beta Tool™ with a needle nose (red) or the newer, Beta Tool-2™ (black) with a snub nose that allows you to reach further into the instrument.

Use the MicroSolv™ Stainless Steel tubing cutter, (Cat# 46001-01), for very good tubing cuts when precut tubing is not available or will not work. The cutting wheel operates like a plumber’s pipe cutter, it minimizes burrs and will not kink your tubing. Replacement wheels are available.

The scoring pliers for use with SS or other metal HPLC tubing is designed not to cut your tubing but to score it properly and easily. Once it is scored, you can break it creating a minimal amount of burrs and avoid crimping the inner diameter. It is recommended that you use a file to clean out the tubing after breaking it.
