Do You Offer a 0.5 µm Titanium or PEEK Frit for PEEK Column Hardware?

Short Answer:  Yes—MicroSolv does offer a 0.5 µm frit made of titanium, but a 0.5 µm frit in PEEK is not available.

Available Frit Types

The standard frit options supplied with PEEK HPLC column hardware are:

  • 5 µm stainless‑steel frits
  • 5 µm PEEK frits

However, for applications requiring finer porosity, MicroSolv offers:

  • 0.5 µm titanium frits ✔
  • 0.5 µm PEEK frits ✘ (not available)

Titanium is selected for the 0.5 µm frit due to its mechanical strength and compatibility at this extremely fine porosity—PEEK cannot maintain structural integrity at this pore size.


When to Use a 0.5 µm Titanium Frit

A 0.5 µm frit is typically chosen when:

  • You want to prevent particulate contamination in very sensitive separations.
  • You are running very low‑flow applications or narrow‑bore formats where debris can easily cause performance instability.
  • The method requires minimal risk of sample interaction with stainless steel, while still maintaining robustness.

Titanium provides:

  • Excellent solvent and pH compatibility
  • High pressure tolerance
  • Very low surface reactivity

Compatibility with PEEK Hardware

Even though the frit itself is titanium, it is fully compatible with PEEK column hardware designs.
