Some samples can be in 100% Water Diluents when using Aqueous Normal Phase (ANP) HPLC.

Although it is preferable to use a high organic content diluent for your sample in ANP, we have observed excellent peak shapes using entirely aqueous injections in many applications.

This application note featuring the Cogent Diamond Hydride™ Column is an example of analysis of folic acid in standards and juice samples in ANP. A 100% water-based diluent was used and the peak shape was both sharp and symmetrical.
