Cogent RP Phenyl™ is a reversed-phase HPLC stationary phase designed to provide unique selectivity through π-π interactions between aromatic analytes and the bonded phenyl functionality. Manufactured using a traditional three-carbon linker with a terminal phenyl ring bonded to ultra-high purity silica and fully double end capped, this stationary phase provides chromatographic behavior distinct from conventional alkyl phases. This popular narrow-bore configuration is optimized for rapid separations, reduced solvent consumption, and excellent compatibility with LC-MS instrumentation. The 3 µm particles provide improved efficiency and sharper peaks than comparable 5 µm columns, while the short 50 mm column length minimizes run times for high-throughput workflows. Typical operating flow rates are approximately 0.2–0.3 mL/min. Because of the low flow rates required by 2.1 mm ID columns, standard HPLC systems must be capable of precise and reproducible low-flow operation.
